In advance of our pilgrimage to Augusta, my buddy Steve and I have been enjoying some (COLD) golf at Reynolds Plantation. Yesterday, we attended a Taylormade demo day at the National course which was pretty cool. TM had a huge selection of all their latest and greatest, and we both bought a couple of new clubs. The R9 stuff is really nice, and I predict will be a big success. Similarly, the Burner line (esp the new Burner Irons, the Rescue Clubs and Fairway Woods) was very popular - lines of people waiting to hit the irons. After a chilly warm up at the demo day, we moved on to the highlight of the trip - a round of golf at the AWESOME Creek Club course. For those of you unfamiliar with the Creek Club, it is like nothing else in the SouthEast....highly contoured greens, fairways sculpted from the natural hilly landscape, great turf...you name it, they have it. Practically every hole is a memorable event.
In addition to the great track, the staff is super friendly - a tip of the hat to Jaimie, the lovely and talented young lady in the clubhouse...HOLLA Jaimie....
Here are a couple shots from the 18th green...
Yes, I made the putt....
As you can see, we were pretty bundled up...but it was still a GREAT time, thanks to to the incredible venue and the super service from everyone there. Oh, btw, that's not the ghost of Ben Hogan above...that's my pal Steve....
And now, time to put on the mukluks and head to Augusta. Check back tonight for an update and photos from the practice round.
