Experiences of the Debate

As the days leading up the Debate approached I found myself filled with excitement. I changed my daily walking path to walk right past the ford center so I could get a day to day update on the progress of all the venues. It seemed to me that the sun shined a little brighter and the air was a little fresher in Oxford, Mississippi. Though my cup was definitely half full I was trying to not get my hopes up for fear that the whole experience would be a let down. I did feel however that luck was on my side. At the Sunday nights Debate kick off I was one of the few lucky students whose name was called early enough to insure me a ticket. Me, the person who wins nothing had the hardest ticket to get in the schools history. This ticket was harder to get then when Eli played LSU for the SEC Championship in 2004. I was placed with MSNBC and had the most amazing internship experience. I drove golf carts, sat in place for Chris Matthews for set sound and lighting, and made sure Tom Brokaw had been to makeup and ready to go live. Then to top of my experiences of Thursday and Friday afternoon by 4:00 p.m. I was headed to the debate. It was everything I expected it to be. My Debate experience will bring me many memories for the years to come.
