hat tip – Muzikal203
I’m not sure if you guys talked about this already but Dr. William P. Foster – the man that put the FAMU Marching Band on the map- passed away last week at age 91. His Homegoing service was yesterday. Someone recorded the band playing Elsa’s Procession for him, I half expected him to raise out of the coffin, very powerful stuff.
……………..
from Youtube:
The FAMU Wind Ensemble and the Marching “100″ perform Dr. William P. Foster’s favorite song at his funeral in FAMU’s Lee Hall Auditorium. Notice near the end of the song when the musicians on the stage are joined by those in the balcony. Suddenly, you could actually feel the music and the emotion in the room. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house! It was amazingly beautiful – a fine tribute to The Legend – Dr. William P. Foster! HUBBA DOC!
