A scientists at the Marshall Space Flight Center says that he has found "evidence of microscopic life forms [that] are not found on Earth":
The study, published online in The Journal of Cosmology says tiny fossilised bacteria were found by the scientist on three meteorites.
The discovery by astrobiologist Richard Hoover is considered very controversial with the central claim being that there is evidence of microfossils on the surfaces of three meteorites.
Reuters reported in an interview with Dr Hoover that he believed the microscopic structures had lots of carbon, which is a marker for life similar to that on Earth.
