New Taichung Municipality Hall

Managed to get these shots of the new Taichung Municipality Hall and offices.  This is just my uninformed opinion (I am not an architect or art critic) but I find this monolith highly uninspiring.  It is essentially a glass-covered cuboid with a big gap in the middle and a large screen.  It does have a large driveway for visiting dignitaries and public demonstrations and is lower than the rapidly built and half empty land investment structures that surround it but compared to the European styling of the current City Hall it is a a cold, corporate and unimaginative building.  Now, if all the glass windows could also be simultaneously be used to show video or colour it would be a much more visually inspiring and pleasing artefice.   VERDICT: Design Fail.
