Current TV, a cable television network pioneered by Al Gore, is the new home for Keith Olberman following his departure from MSNBC and will hot an hour long nightly news program:
His Current show will debut in "late spring," he said, and will be "an improved and hopefully amplified and stronger" version of "Countdown," which he did for eight years.H/T - TalkLeft
[Olberman] stressed his commitment to Current, in which he has purchased an equity stake and where he will also be chief news officer.
Executive vice chairman Joel Hyatt said Olbermann will develop other programs, though neither he nor Olbermann would say whether Current hopes to build an evening talk show lineup.
Both gave strong indications that is likely, though Hyatt also said Current's programming will remain "strong differentiated" from the cable news networks.
