Romney Wins New Hampshire Straw Poll

Mitt Romney won a small straw poll in New Hampshire yesterday:
The poll, conducted at the Republican State Committee meeting in Derry, had Romney at 35 percent. Trailing him were Representative Ron Paul (11 percent), former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty (8 percent), former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin (7 percent), and Representative Michele Bachmann (5 percent).
It should be pointed out that straw polls such as this generally favor the candidate that has made donations to the right people in the party infrastructure or early presidential candidates that already have people on the payroll.  Regardless of these facts Romney does appear to be the early favorite to win the nomination.  He would do well to avoid Iowa and just concentrate on New Hampshire.
