At first glance the Nissan Leaf looks a little better for most consumers (that is unless you live in the country like me), but upon further examination by experts the mileage may not be quite so good:
The Volt has an additional gasoline engine that acts as a backup engine. The Nissan Leaf on the other hand is fully electric.

Experts have been considering the ranges of the Leaf to determine how far it can go on a charge.

It has been determined the Nissan vehicle can travel up to a distance of about 100 miles on one charge.

One drawback noted by testers is that the car has a problem pertaining to cold weather.

Cold weather may reduce the range of the Leaf to about 65 miles, according to Consumer Reports.
Well, 65 miles is quite different from 100.  How do they reconcile that?
