Quote of the Week

Republic of Capitulation President Ma Ying-jeou yesterday modestly compared himself to US President Obama:
Ma said he felt “gratified” that Obama had received the Nobel Peace Prize and that it signified the judging committee recognized his concept of peace.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee praised Obama for “his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”
So, let's get this straight.  Because the Nobel Committee awarded Obama the peace prize, in doing so they inadvertently also recognised Ma's concept of peace

I think that's a stretch too far and Ma's attempt to appropriate the prize as some sort of indicator that his 'peace making' is globally lauded can be regarded as little more than a shallow attempt to boost domestic credibility at a time when the beef scandal has further hurt his tarnished image.

I doubt  if anyone on the Nobel committee even thought about Ma (or knew who he was) when they were deciding which leader would receive the prize.
