Gov. Bentley Considering Toll Roads

Alabama Governor Robert Bentley is considering "toll roads" as a way to avoid using state funds to cover the loss of $150 million worth of stimulus money that we really didn't want anyway, right?:
Bentley instructed the state highway department to look for an alternative way to meet the state's needs, and told the Montgomery Advertiser "I think selected toll roads is something I want to look at."

But key lawmakers said they have doubts that tolls would work in many parts of the state. Senate Minority Leader Roger Bedford said roads in key cities and some routes to the beach could have enough traffic to justify tolls, but most parts of the state don't have enough traffic for the new fees.
Here is a novel idea:  Actually do something about the disaster that is traffic on 280 leaving Birmingham anytime after 2:00 pm.
