Fair and balanced?

It always bugs me each election year how the different stations report different numbers for the electoral college. Like right now, for instance, only TWO states are in--Vermont and Kentucky--and different news sources have different amounts. Vermont for Obama and Kentucky for McCain. Politico.com, CNN.com, and other reputable sources all list the numbers as 3 for Obama and 8 for McCain. But Foxnews.com reports 3 for Obama and 13 for McCain, and their electoral college map only shows Vermont and Kentucky declaring winners. So what gives? I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it is just a fluke, but it ALWAYS seems to happen. I know once more states start reporting it's easier to have differing numbers but only two states...really?
