Ring the crisis alarm?

According to Joe Biden, Barack Obama will face an international crisis if he were to be elected president of the United States. By making statements like that, Biden is voluntarily giving ammunition to McCain to once again lash out at Obama. Not standing behind your candidate in the way Biden just did, with only a couple more days left before the actual election, is a downright stupid mistake.

According to an article in the New York Post Biden told donors at a Seattle fundraiser last Sunday night that Obama will be tested by the world within the first six months in office, just as they did to John F. Kennedy. What strikes me as odd is that in one sentence Biden first says that America is about to elect a brilliant new president; to than say that he will be needing help. Because, as Biden said, “Senator Obama won't have the right response, and we know that because we've seen the wrong response from him over and over during this campaign”.

I think that by making statements like that, he is not only damaging Obama’s credibility, but he is also raising fear amongst the American people. Because, if you translate what he said in a simple manner, Biden warns that by electing Obama as the next president, a world crisis would be more likely to occur. Even if this is not what he meant to say, he has made an unfortunate choice of words and he has to correct them. To make a strong and winning team, you have to be on the same line. As being VP, you have to stand behind your president.
