presidential and vp debates

As I was watching the vice presidential debate last night, I kept considering the differences between it and the presidential debate that took place last week. Last Friday the two presidential candidates were very serious. Most answers from both sides seemed calm and well thought-out. Last night, the vice presidential candidates seemed much more enthusiastic and fired-up. There was more interaction between the two debaters. They seemed to have a little banter going back and forth, with Sarah Palin saying playfully at one point with a light laugh, "I say it aint so Joe." Although neither candidate gave many forth right, straight to the point answers last night, this debate was more entertaining than the presidential debate. It will be interesting to see if the next two debates become more heated, if the presidential candidates will interact more with each other as their running mates did and if questions will be answered more directly.

Although the presidential debate was somewhat less entertaining than the VP one, the place in which i watched the first debate was much more exciting. Standing at the very back of the media filing center, watching the debate on the hundreds of plasma televisions in front of me was rather surreal. Watching journalists from all over the world watch, interpret, and report the debate was so interesting--allowing me to see into the life of a successful journalist.
